Dr. Tiffany Cafaro B.Sc(Hon), D.C.

Dr. Cafaro is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She focused her education on sports medicine, physiology and ergonomics. Dr. Cafaro then graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1999.

She has worked with a variety of athletic teams including football, soccer, lacrosse and hockey. She also has experience working with athletes in a variety of sports such as dance, trampolining, baseball and mixed martial arts. Her interests include preventing, treating and rehabilitating sport injuries, thereby allowing athlete’s to optimize their athletic potential.

An avid athlete, she was selected as an All-Star in University track, Field hockey and Soccer. During this period, she was elected captain of the University of Waterloo soccer team and voted most valuable player.

Advanced Practice Provider

Dr. Tiffany Cafaro is now qualified as an Advanced Practice Provider in Spine from the Ministry of Health funded ISAEC (Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics) program. The clinic will become a rapid access clinic for low back pain.

GLAD:D Canada Exercise Program for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis

The GLA:D Canada program is an internationally recognised exercise program for Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis. Rapid Access Clinic for Low Back Pain

Our clinic will be able to accept referrals from family physicians who are registered with the Rapid Access Clinic suffering from low back pain for consultation and assessment of patients suffering from low back pain. Dr. Tiffany Cafaro will provide a defined program of care to Patients with an emphasis on education, self-management, and health promotion strategies. She will develop a collaborative care plan with the patient, while identifying signs and symptoms requiring a change in the plan of care, diagnostic imaging/testing, or referral to specialist.

ISAEC

The Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics (ISAEC) is an innovative, upstream, shared-care model of care in which patients receive rapid low back pain assessment (less than three weeks on average), education and evidence-based self-management plans. It is designed to decrease the prevalence of unmanageable chronic low back pain, reduce unnecessary diagnostic imaging as well as unnecessary specialist referral.
